DOG TAX

LEVY IN COUNTY certificate to be issued Writing the Whakatane County Council last Tuesday the Unders©erctarj\ Department Internal Affairs, stated that, in view of the difficulties being experienced in obtaining dog collars in order to comply with the provisions of the Dogs Registration Act, 1908, the Dogs Registration Emergency Regulations 1942 (No. 2) had been issued and would continue in operation for future registration years while, war conditions lasted. The Council decided that under the Dogs Registration Act 1942 (No. 2), certificate in the prescribed form issue for 1943 in lieu of d.og collar —that dog registration fees for 1943 be Is for dogs kept solely for the purpose of destroying rabbits; 2s for dogs; kept solely for the purpose of herding sheep or cattle and 5s for any other dog—in every instance the cost of arocoil'ine hydrobromide to be additional Is and further that Mr A. Carling be appointed dog tax collector.
