EGG-LAYING RECORD
WHAKATANE BREEDER'S SUCCESS A TRIPLE WIN In the Auckland (N.Z.) Egg-laying Contest, conducted at the Zoological Park for the 300 day period ending on January 16 la;st, Mr H. Jackson, of Haig Street, Whakatane, won singular success in three classes. The warmest congratulations have been extended to Mr Jackson on the performance of his birds in three main classes. His list i.s as under: — White Leghorns: H. Jackson (Whakatane) 20!) eggs, Ist. Australorps: H. Jackson (Whakatane) 24.4 eggs, Ist. Rhode Island Reds, his entry laM 247 eggs, the greatest quantity i ; a the contest but was. defaulted, on, the size of the eggs which were 1 gram underweight. Mr Jackson's performance onc<s more bears- out the oit repeated statement that there are better bints; in the Bay of Plenty than in any other part of the Province.
