WOOL CONGESTION
REQUEST TO GROWERS
The next Auckland -wool appraisal is scheduled to commence on Thursday, when 28,000 to 30,000 bales will, be offered. Catalogues for this appraisement closed over a week ago, and since then wool has been arriving steadily into brokers' stores. Owing to the large quantity of wool already in Auckland, and as the next appraisal in which this wool could be offered does not commence until March 4th, the Woolbrokers' Association requests growers to withhold the consignment of their wool in the meantime in order to minimise the congestion. The chairman, Mr H. Duke, states that the position is under constant review by the association, and growers can be assured that arrangements for the further acceptance of wool will be made as soon as possible. Owing to war conditions, brokers have this year been unable to secure outside storage for their wool.
