ORANGE SUBSTITUTE
THE VITAL VITAMIN 'C> The Plunkct Society points out that Vitamin C in orange juice its , necessary to the baby tc) l prevent illness. Oranges are liltaly to be in short supply from time to time and the Society suggests the following fruits as substitutes-:— ,Lemon and Grapefruit Juice.— Squeeze out the juice in the morning and put aside in a cup. Add 1-2 teaspoons of 'this juice to baby's bottle of cold milk mixture immer diately before warming baby's feed; if you do not overheat the mixture it will not curdle. Some babies like raw grapefruit juice sweetened with a little Karilac. Black Currant Juice.—Add the black currant juice to the bottle of cold milk mixture, as for lemon juice* and do not overheat when - warming baby's feed. Tomato Juice.—The tomatoes should be cooked, for three to five minutes and then strained through ■ a sieve. The juice may also be giv- . en raw, if it agrees, with baby; it is wiser, however, ot commence with the cooked juice..
