VISITORS TO OHOPE
MORE THAN LAST LEAR
ACCOMMODATION TAXED
Though there, is far from the usual number of holiday makers at Ohope this year, there is nevertheless an appreciable increase on the crowd which favoured the resort last' holidays twelve months ago. All accommodation is still taxed despite the conclusion of all but the children's holidays. If may here be noted that, visitors on the main are made up of families with young children. There has been, according to one agent, heavy bookings; rip till the end of the present month, when of course the school holidays commence to tail off. Even so, Ohope this year seems to have found a wider popularity which augers well for its future when normal: times, are restored. Visitors Tribute "I| consider your beach absolutely without peer anyAvhere else in New Zealand,*' said one Wellington visitor who had seen Ohope for the first time. He was charmed with the beautiful setting, its extent and the natural bush background. He prophesied a great future for Ohope and urged that permanent residents should see to it that no rushed-up, unsightly baches should; be allowed to deface its beauty. Other visiting groups were from Rotorua, Hamilton, Cambridge, To Awamutu and Auckland. All were delighted with the beach and have indicated, their intention of coming back again.
