The biscuit lias been evolved, after many tests, by British biscuit makers, who arc now, to the num j bcr of '240, united with the cakc makers in the Cakc and Biscuit Manufacturers* Wartime Alliance, a non-ijrofitmaking organisation. The Welfare is a sweet biscuit made from wheatmeal flour, the purest vegetable fat, and the finest grade of sugar. Tt gives the maximum of nutrition at the low price of !)d per lb., and. the industry re,-! gard it as. the best value ever offered to tile public. The biscuits are mainly oblong, for, although the ingredients are standardised, the shapes vary a li!> tie so as not to limit production to a few cutting machines. They are carefully packed, in fins stored in cases of 50lbs weight which Avill preserve them indefinitely in all climates.
