BUTTERFAT PRICES
APPORTIONMENT OF PAYMENTS FARMERS affected by change OVER "This special permit is being " made to suppliers who changed over to cheese making during the last two seasons and who have now reverted to butter making," said the Hon. J. G. Barclay when making a statement on the apportionment of special payments of 1d per pound butterfat between the farm owner and sharemilker. "The payment is intended to be compensation for the inevitable tosses incurred and sacrifices made in the double change over including reduced returns from peaks." Mr Barclay addted that payment would be made to the. supplier and it was intendedl that it should' be apportioned by the supplier and sharemilker. It was impossible to lay ■down a rule for the apportionment but it was suggested that " if an arrangement was not reached arbitration as provided in the Sliaremilking Agreement be •used.
