LOCAL SOLDIER HONOURED
An enjoyable dance was held in the Waimana Hall recently when ■ Gunner John Ruff was honoured. The dance music was supplied: by Mr and. Mrs King, and Miss Mavis Wardlaw and Mr Mi. Burke obliged with extras. The novelty dances ""P proved most popular. Mr H. Ward* law acted as M.C. After supper had been served, by a most capable committee, Mr Burnett called upon the guest of honour to accept a wallet ..and its con-< tents from the -people of. Waimana and Nukuhou North, with their best wishes for his future. Mr Burnett stated how the guest would be missed from the sporting circles of the district, after which Mrs Wylde presented' the gift. The guest thanked Mr Burnett and all for the gift and evening. which he greatly appreciated. Dancing continued and AuldLang Syne and the National Anthem closed the evening.
