Inconsolable after the death ol' his master, the llev. Father Williams, of Sydnej'. Paddy. an Irish terrier, refused l'ood and water until he died five days later. The dog died with a of untouched food, beside him at the same hour, !J p.m., as his master. The Rev. Father Williams, aged 80, died in retirement at his home, after being bedridden for three months. While he lay ill, Paddy, his inseparable companion for several years, remained beside the bed. As the priest became weaker the terrier became moroso. "When his master died, Paddy crawled beneath the bed. and refused lo be comforted. The llev. Father Brennan, who attended Father Williams, said that the terrier would ''almost, talk to him." When he visited the priest, Paddy would meet him at the gate and lead him to Father Williams' room.
