An Unusual Visitor A visitor not often . seen in the Gisborne district, the blue heron, was seen recently by a Gisborne re-* sident. It was flying from the Soldiers' Memorial towards, the Macrae "Bath, while another report stated that one was ssen in the Kaikanaet Creek. The b;ue heron, sometimesincorrectly referred to as the blue crane, is a widely distributed, species in the tropical Pacific, ami in New Zealand its range is confined to> coastal regions washed by warm currents, including North Auckland, Bay of Plenty, the western shores of Cook Strait, and parts of Foveaux.
