WHARFAGES
A DECLINE REGISTERED
HARBOUR BOARD LOSS
Reporting to the Harbour Board last week the secretary (Mr C. G. Lucas) stated* that theyear to date had shown a dte- * cline in wharfage receipts amounting to just over £400. Details of the past, two months were as under:— August September 1940 £332 3 2 1040 £310 11 8 1941 £323 9 3 1941 £303 18 0 1942 £205 11 9 1942 £261 16 1 From the above it will be seen that in August there was a decrease of £115 and in September £50 making a total of £165 lor the two combined months. The chairman. Mr W. R. Boon, said that all tilings considered he thought the position very satisfactory and if the board could hold its own at the present level it would be very lucky. It all depended upon the transport of materials in future including iron, cement,, petrol and butter which up till now had not declined to the extent anticipated.
