The Theatres
REGENT
Screening Friday, Saturday, Monday, "South American George," George Formby, Linden Travers, Enid Stamp Taylor, Gus McNaughton. Formby's funniest frolic. If you can imagine George as a theat.-' rical extra who suddenly finds himself forced into impersonating a highly temperamental opera star whom he happens to resemble, yo-u will have some idea of the hilarious fun and adventure that, make "South American George'' 1 the grand and glorious entertainment that it is. A terrific riot of fun from start to finish, the picture is Formby's first big Columbia production and is without any question his greatest and funniest. The fun —and what terrific fun it is—begins when Formby has, to sing in opera for which he has neither the Italian tongue nor the restrained, tenor, voice.
