OBITUARY
MISS ANNIE MARIA LARMER
The death occurred on September 18 of Miss Annie Maria Larmer, at her residence on Hospital Hill, Opotiki, at the ag'e of 82 years. She was born in Braidwood, New South Wales, in 1860, and was the last surviving member of the family of the late William Edward Lar-? mer, formerly of Surrey, England, surveyor and civil enginter. She came with her family to Dunedin in 1879, and a few years later her [ father took up farming in Kaitaia, North Auckland. Miss Larmer has resided in Opo-» tiki for the last forty years, living with her brother, Mr Harry Larmer* until he died five years ago. Her only surving relatives in Australia and New Zealand are her nephews and pieces, namely William Edward Larmer of Opoti'ki, Richard Harold Larmer, of Mrs Daphne McKay, of Ngutunui, Mrs Hazel M. Davies, and Mrs G. A. Bunkall. both of Opotilii. Miss Larmer_was always affectionately known to her wide circle Q-f friends as "Aunty." She w T as a kind and Christian lady of the okl school, who lived a quiet and retired life, yet did much to help many.
