WEDDING BELLS

WEBBER—PEPPERELL

A wedding of widespread interest was solejnnised recently at the Anglican Church, Edgecumbe, when Joyce Lillian, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs J. E. Pepperell, Eldgecumbe, was married to Maurice Edgar, only son of Mr and Mirs H. El Webber, of Te Awamutu. The Rev, S. G. Caulton officiated, and Mrs Goodwin was' the organist. The church was tastefully decorated with spring flowers.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful trained gown of white taffeta fashioned with a heart shaped neckline and finished with pleated georgette. The bodice Avas draped into a panel in front and finished with little buttons. The billowy tulle veil fell from a halo of orange blossoms and pearls and she carried a sheaf of Arum lillies.

Tlie Matron of Honour, Mrs Newton Hudson, RiversJea, the bride's sister wore a graceful gown of ap-

pic green taffeta made with a flowing skirt. Self covered buttons ornamented the bodice. A top knot of flowers was worn on her. shoulder length veil and she carried a bouquet of cream freezias, anemones and maiden hair fern. Mr Thomas Rae of Te Awamutu, ivas best man. Following the -ceremony a reception was held at the Private Hotel, Edgccumbe, where Mrs Pepperell received her guests wearing a smart grey embroidered model frock and black hat. She carried a posy of anemones, Argentine peas and maiden hair fern. Mrs Webber wore a black ensemble relieved with white and carried a posy of scarlet anemones and maiden .hair fern. After the reception the happy couple left by car on a tour north, the bride wearing a smart petunia model frock, fur coat and black ac-

cessorics. Mr and Mirs Webber were the recipients of many beautiful and useful presents. They will ma'ke their future home at Otorohanga.
