MR JOHN BUNN
Born at Motueka, Nelson, sixtyeight years ago, Mr John Bunn,
whose death occurred recently was a well known and widely respected resident of the RangitaMu Plains for many years. He was educated in the town of his birth and as a young
man gained some prominence as a Rugby footballer and as an nthlcte. As a provincial football representative he made several South Island tours and also had a reputation, as an axeman. At the age of thirty he came north to Taranald, where he look up farming at Eltham remaining in that district for 18 years. His next move was to Te Teko on, the Rangitaiki where he acquired property which he farmed successfully for a number of years. A later move was to Awakeri where his property was given the benefit of his wide experience. . Eight years ago he retired, and lfvcd quietly till the time of his (Continued in next column)
death with his daughter arid son-in-law, Mr and Mrs O. V. Marx. Whilst in Te Teko he took a keen interest' in the district sports meetings held there regularly and his support and active assistance were greatly appreciated bv his fellow committeemen.
The late Mr Burui's wife predeceased him sixteen years ago. He leaves four children Messrs John: Bunn (Auckland), H. Bu.niv (Ota-, kiri), L. Bunn (Whakatane). ami Mrs O. V. Marx (Etlgecumbe). Thera are fifteen grandchildren.
