FAULTY PACKING
CAKES FOR SOLDIERS
NEED FOR GREATER CARE
The following letter rcceivcd from the Provincial Patriotic Council lias been handed us for reproduction by the Zone Secretary, Mr C. G. Lucas.
"The National Secretary requests that you tlake an early opportunity of impressing upon all workers in your area the necessity of ensuring that tins containing cakes are properly sealed being included l for despatch overseas. Advice recently received from an officer serving with the 2nd N.Z.E.F. indicated that as a result of faulty packing most of the cakes in ia recent issue of gift parcels were opened in a mild'ewed condition."
Relatives and friends in the Whakatane district, who havei been in the habit of regularly sending cakes overseas should take careful note of the above.
