PATRIOTIC DANCE
AWAKERI GATHERING
The patriotic dance which Avas held in the AAvakeri Hall on Monday, September 14, dreAV a good muster of patrons and Avas a sound success. Fortunately, the Aveather was fine and conducive to dancing Avliich was enjoyed by all, thanks largely to the excellent performance of the Rhythm Aces orchestra. As a result of the function the AAvakeri Patriotic funds Avill benefit. Lo the extent of nearly £10>.
Guests of the eA r ening Avere Gregory Dodunski, Charlie Honeycombe and Geoffrey Parsons, each of Avhom was presented with a money belt and contents as Avell as a Whafaatane and County Avallet.
'I'll the absence of Mr Claris, Mr T. Kerr wished the lads the best of luck in the difficult Avork Avhich they were to undertake.
Mr P. Woods from Smith's Mill attended and on behalf of the management and staff made a further presentation to Charlie Honeycombe, a former member of ithat staff. Each lad, returned thanks and received a Avarm reception from the croAvd.
