Mr A. S. Sutherland, M.P. for Haurajki, has for some time been try- . ing to secure the consent of the Food Controller, Mr Thomas, of Wellington, to an extra issue of tea . and sugar to farmers on the sain® basis as the special concession to city workers. •Mr Sutherland, .lias now received advice from the Controller that, a plan is being formulated to meet the position, ami the concession will be available at an early date. Mr Sutherland said that his claim that the country people who worked long hours were entitled to the extra ration of sugar and tea was being recognised by the authorities. His understanding of the position was that the extra ration would apply to country workers all . over the Dominion..
