HARBOUR BOARD'S LAUNCH WEDGED AGAINST LOG At about 2.45 a.m. this morning the nightwatchman, Mr J. Kinnard, in the course of his) usual rounds discovered the Harbour Board's launch in a position of great danger. A 30ft log was wedged firmly between the bow of the boat and the wharf, forcing the vessel out at an acute angle some 20ft from the wharf and placing a terrific strain upon th,£ mooring ropes. The strong current was forcing the boat out to such a degree that it was feared the line w r ould snap at any moment. The Harbourmaster was' roused and after considerable manoeuvring the log broke clear and sailed out to the Heads.
