PATRIOTIC DANCE
SUCCESSFUL EI>GECUMBE FUNCTION
A very successful dance was held in the Edgecumbe Hall last Thursday, under the auspices of the Edgecumbe branch of. the Patriotic Society. Ihe Rhythm Aces Band was in attendance and proved very popular. The duties of M.C. were cap-t----ably carried out by Mr J. Russell and several novelty dances added in-! terest to the evening. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss CauJfield and partner and winners of the Statue Log Cabin were Mr M. Webber and Miss Joy Pepperell.. A popular raffle, which adjled> substantially to the funds, was won by Pte J. Johnston, second prize going to Mrs I. Campbell. A very dainty horned-cooked supper was provided by ladies of the district and served by the ladies committee. Tables of the supper room were well set out asd decorated with spring flowers. This is the first of, a series of, dances to be held monthly at the Edgeciunbe Hall. The committee hope that the dances to come will be as well patronised.
