NEW CO-OPERATIVE:. SCHEME
Monday, the 17th of Augmst, saw the advent of a central egg. floor for the handling and distribution of all eggs produced in the Canterbury districts. This develop me lit f billowed closely upon the pur chase- by producers of the largest egg, distributing business in Christchurrehs, which with 60 per cent erf the eggs, under its control will henceforth operate on a purely co-operative basis. This new co-operative distributing company has been capitalised at. £10,000, which lift's been subscribed in equal shares by the Canterbury Coop. Egg Producers' Association, Ltd., a pany recently formed, by egg producers, and the New Zealand Cooperative Pig Marketing Association Ltd., whose subsidiaries' manufactured pork products in the South Island will also be distributed by the new company on whose premises the central egg floor is already established.
