EDGECUMBE ACTIVITIES

SERIES OF DANCES FI.ANNED Since the annual meeting of the Edgeeumbe Patriotic Conimittee, the ' ladies met to arrange a programme ■ of Patriotic activities. For this purpose the following committee' was elected: — President: Mrs Hartley (knitting convenor). Vice-president: Mrs A. Marx. Hon. Secretary: Miss G. Ranby. Committee: Mesdames Cole (dance convenor), Shaw (card evening convenor), Burgess, Brady, Carter, V. Marx, Cowie, Moody, Perkins, Spiers and J. Jamieson. It was decided that a dance should lie held every four weeks commencing on 27th August and a card evening every four weeks commencing on 10th September. (Other Patriotic committees are requested to note this programme). A bring and buy stall is to be held in conjunction with the card evenings and the public is requested to assist by donating produce, cakes, etc. to this stall. Following the card tournament will be a dance.
