RED CROSS INTERESTS
MONTHLY MEETING HELD
The monthly meeting of the Wl*i"katane branch of the N.Z. Red Cross Society took place in the Horougli Council Chambers on the 11th inst. at 2.30 p.m. Mrs Sullivan. was in I the chair.
The resignation of Mrs H. Searle. who has left the district, was accepted with regret, and appreciation of her willing help was expressed. Mrs Winstone was appointed treasurer in place of Mrs Searle.
It is hoped to be able to arrange classes for hospital kitchen and linen aids shortly.
It was reported that shipping space was now available for Lady Gahvay Guild cases of clothing. Mrs Moran undertook to see to the packing of these. Mrs Timbs for the Knitting Circle reported (that ( J(> knitted articles had been completed and dispatched during July. They would be glad if some more knitters would offer their services. Mrs Ramson (Sewing Circle) reported that 27 pairs of pyjamas haa been cut out and given out to be made up. Also bed jjackeis had been completed and sent away. During 'the month Owen Brockett, R.A.F., had been farewelled.
