SEASONAL TOPDRESSING

FERTILISER RATIONING INFORMATION FOR FARMERS

Noav that the Fertiliser Control Order for 1942/43 has been gazetted it is possible for farmers to place their orders for topdressing and cropping supplies Avith their vendors. For the purpose of topdressing, eauh farmer is entitled to 70 per cent of his last year's allocation. Where a farmer had used any. organic manure, such as Blood and Bone, for topdressing purposes during the period, Ist June, 1939-31 st May, 1941, he is being given the opportunity to make, application in Avriting to his local Fertiliser Committee setting out the folloAving particulars:—

1. The total quantity of organic fertiliser used by the applicant or previous oAvner for topdressing the same land, Avith'in the period specified above.

2. The name and business address of the vendor from whom' sui?li organic fertiliser Avas purchased.

3. The name and business address of the vendor from whom any additional supply made available will be purchased.

These applications must be made in writing by the applicants not later than 15th August, 1942 to The Chairman. Fertiliser Committee, Department of Agriculture, Tauranga. Proof of purchase of such organic fertiliser should be supplied by applicants.

So far no has been made for any other reason than the by which farmers could apply to their local fetriliser committee for an increase in their allocation, or for allowing an allocation Avhere a farmer by A r irtue of being a neAV owner or for any other reason had no allocation last year. Supplies of fertiliser for cropping can bo obtained from vendbrs on application when a form has to be filled in and signed by the applicant.
