RUBBER BAND SUBSTITUTE NEWS TA PER RUNNER'S IDEA A 'youthful newspaper runner at Grey mouth has. found a chcap but excellent substitute for lite rubber bands that had previously kept liis papers in a compact roll.
"With his friends. who have adopted ills idea, he saves the outside of used cigarette packets, which normall}- iind their way (into gutters, rubbish tins and iirepiaees, and after cutting the packets' into live strips crosswise, quickly ties his papers with the strips.
