FEAR OF PRISONERS A SIDELIGHT FROM RUSSIA Here is an extract from an intercepted letter written by Private Khristin, guard in a German camp for Soviet war prisoners, to his bro-ther-in-law, Hans-—
"If they mutiny they will devour us. Once already thej' have opened fire on us. Two of them fired s::ven or eight shots but missed the sentries. We replied witii machine gun fi re. "In Lvov the prisoners mutinied and killed 17 sentries. In this town many sentries have already been ki'led at night. "We are south of Kiev. Since we came here Ave have shot 33.000 Jews. Kvery day many Russians die of starvation. You cannot imagine the conditions in this camp."
