DARK DAYS
"WE ALL HATE THE BOCHES" LET7KII FROM FIIAXCF The days -we are now Jiving are very dark, very sad, and Aery discouraging. "Yesterday we cried— yes, cried—witli helpless rage. We all hate the Bodies, who are slowly starving us: the very, mention of collaboration makes our blood boil and our hearts ache with indignation. But what can -we xlo? We. have 110 weapons and those isolated cases of unorganised resistance are of little avail. We all hope that some Frenchmen will at last wake up and tell the Bodies that we have had enough of them, and to get out. As for Pet a in, we don't trust him any more. At tlie same time, Ave hold nothing against him. for he is an old man,, and men of 85, eve;n the greatest, never have the quick, clear mind of younger men. Never lose hope in us. The Bodies are and will always remain, our enemies.— From a letter from France.
