NEW RATES OF PAY
WORKERS GET THE CREAM FARMERS GETTING SKIM MTLK "It seems to me that farm hands are getting the cream and the .farmers arc getting the skim milk," said Mr H. J. Pin lay at a meeting of th? South Taranaki executive of the Farmers' Union in Hawera recently.
Advice was received by the new rates of pay for farm labourers, which are to come into operation on August 1, and the president, Mr W. 11. Sheet, said the rates quoted Avere the minimum wages. He believed that not one per cent of the farm:ers were paying minimum rates.
