"EVERY CONFIDENCE"
On a small postcard sent to the National Patriotic Fund Board a New Zealand prisoner of war in Germany conveys a message that he and his fellow-prisoners are confident of the outcome of the war.
This prisoner, whose Avife is believed to be living in Petone, Avrote thanking the board for gifts of cigarettes sent 011 his behalf by the office of the New Zealand High Commissioner in London! "I wcuid like to express my sincere thanks and say hoAV much these cigarettes are appreciated by the chaps here," he stated. "The society is doing a great job and it is heartening for us to know that New Zealand is still Avith us." Then he added-: "Don't forget Ave hirve eA-ery confidence." The "Ave" Avas underlined. Tho board has a letter from another New Zealand prisoner in the same camp, and he also wrote expressing appreciation of cigarettes he had received.
