WHAKATANE ASSOCIATION ELECTION OF OFFICERS A general meeting of the Whaka- ' . tane Basketball Association was held in the Borough Council Chambers on Thursdaj', July 10. The delegates present were Miss Burch and Miss N. Rivett (Primary), Miss Clark and M iss Armstrong (High School)/ Mrs Ward, Misses Howat and Reardon (Whakatane), Miss A. Lawson and Miss J. Bluett (Paroa), Miss Adams and Miss Rangi (Poroporo), Miss Symmans and Miss Bishop (Convent), Miss J. Cave (Referees).
The following officers were elected: — President: Mr I. Hubbard; viccpresidents: Mr W. A. B. Goodwin, Mrs L. Borg, Mr C. S. Armstrong, Mr J. E. Bigelow; secretary and treasurer: Miss M. J. Reardon; committee: Misses M. Howat, Rangi, Bluett, Clark, Burch, Blytlie; selectors: Senior, Misses Clark, Cave, Lawson; junior, Misses Burch, Donald, Adams. SATURDAY'S RESULTS THE BASKETBALL GAME The following are the results of the Basketball matches played last Saturday-:— Senior: Paroa 14 v Whakatane 7; High School A 8 v Whakatane Reserve 5; Rovers 13 v Poroporo 9;, Knox 11 v High School B 8. Junior: Primary A 15 v Convent 5; Poroporo' 17 v Primary B 3. The second week of the draw will I>3 played on Saturdaj r . The games are as follows:— 12.45 p.m.: Convent v Primary B, Miss Burch; Primary A v Paroa, Miss Adams. Senior, 1.45 p.m: Whakatane v Poroporo, Miss Clark; High School A v Paroa, Miiss Cave. 2 p.m: Whakatane Reserve v High School B; Rovers v Knox.
