MANURE RATIONING

ADVICE TO PRODUCTION COUNCIL At the Primary Production Council meeting last week it was reported that some crops would be granted the same amount of fertiliser as in the previous year, whilst others would receive 70 per cent, of the previous year's allocation.

The basis of allocation of topdressing would be 70 of the amount for the previous year, and in addition those farmers who had previously used organic, manure would receive an additional allocation based on 28 per cent, of the amount used by them for the two-year period ending May 31, 1941, and on the annual average usage. This could be taken as either phosphatic or organic fertiliser, or a mixture of both, the choice being subject to their availability on the market.
