RESTRICTIONS IN NORTH ISLAND
COMMENCING NEXT WE!I«
On and after Monday, 27th July 1942, every person (except) as mentioned hereunder) desirous of travelling by rail for any distance exceeding 100 miles in the North Island will be required to siajtfefy the Stationmaster that his or her journey is> necessary for business reasons or o'ther essential purposes, states a special notice issued by the New Zealand Railways Department. Passengers travelling by service car to connect with the! rail service and desirous of travelling over 100 miles by rail requires to obtain permits for such rail travel from the nearest Stationmaster or the Railway Road Service Bus Manager at Whakatane prior to commencingl their journey. Permits will not be required in the following cases :— (1) For holders of annual or season tickets (not Tourist Excursion tickets) for distances exceeding 100 mil|es. (2) For members of the Armed Forces travelling in uniform.
