POSTING OF ACCOUNTS BUSINESSMEN TAKE NOTICE Writing the 'Beacon' relative, to the growing practice of posting accounts and invoices without envelopes, the local Postmaster, Mr A. Lattimore, states as under:— With the acute shortage of paper, many business firms are adopting, the expedient of posting invoices&c., without envelopes. The Department desires to afford full co-opera-tion in this paper-saving effort, but wishes it to be known generally that certain requirements must be met. Briefly, these are as follows: — <1) The minimum size of the pap>r when folded must not be less than approximately 4in by 2%in. (2) Wire staples must not be used. <3) A space of is to be left *it the top of the address side for postage stamps and postmarks and the address only must be shown on Hie remainder of that side. The Department's objection to the*. use of wire staples is that they damage not only the postmarking heads by scoring and lining them, but also the rubber rollers, which are now o.xtremely difficult to replace. i
