NEW CEMETERY
COUNTY UNABLE TO COOPERATE
BOROUGH COUNCIL'S REACTION
Considerable surprise Avas expressed by the Borough Council last Monday when the County Council advised that Mr Tomkins, Count}' Engineer, would be unable to ad'ord the necessary tune to assist in the preparation of the scheme plan of the new cemetery, and suggesting that a price be obtained therefor. The council resolved in accordance with a recommendation from the Works Committee that the attention of the County Council be drawn to the agreement which was made as long ago as November 1940, that the Borough Foreman-Engineer's services had been and still were available for this work, and that it was the opinion of the Council that the County Council should carry out its side of the agreement cither with the services of Mr Tomkins or the appointment of some competent person to substitute for him in this work.
