THEFT OF WATCH
FARM HAND'S OFFENCE A MONTH'S IMPRISONMENT The theft of a gentleman's gold watch (valued at £4 19s 6d) was admitted by Jack Edwards a young farm hand living at Thornton, when he appeared before Messrs G. A. Brabant and J. King, J.P's, in the Whakatane Court yesterday. The accused who had nothing to say in defence of his action was sentenced to one month's imprisonment in the local gaol.
