CARRYING ON THE INDUSTRY
NEW ZEALAND DROVERS
"Drovers are among the most essential workers in New Zealand at the present time," said Mr J. Gill (Hastings) at the New Zealand Workers' Union Conference last week, when suggesting that arrangements should be made to lodge appeals for them when they were called up.
These men, he said, were required in ever-increasing, numbers on account of the petrol situation. It was essential that they should be kept out of camp in order to carry on the industry.
