ROVER'S PUNISHMENT
Once there was a village called "Doggytown," which was lull of puppy dogs. In this town there were shops of all kinds. Pretty poodles sat behind the counters of most shops, but at the butcher's shop a small, harmless, lazy foxie sat on a stool, sleeping most of the time.
One morning, Rover, a big, ugly bulldog, the "bully" of the town, walked past the butcher's shop. Glancing into the window he noticed a nice juicy bit of steak. Push-? ing his nose in the shop, he snatched the steak and ran as fast as his legs would carry him.
On his Avay lie crossed a stream and, looking downwards, he saw his reflection in the filler. Ho spran g
at it, thinking it another dog and another slicc of steak.
He received a bad Avetting and lost his beautiful steak, and, as lie Avas not fond of swimming, it remained at the bottom of the stream.
