MEAT PRODUCTION
KILLINGS TO MID-JUNE The official figures of killings Tor the present season at the Dominion's Freezing Works from Ist October Lill June 13th, as issued by the New Zealand Meat Producers Board, show that lamb killing's to that date total 10,861,754 carcases, this being a decrease of 113,781 carcases compared with the killings to June 14th last season. Wether mutton killings are 761,150 carcases, and ewe mutton killings 1,945,572 carcases, compared with 603,382 and 1,535,523 carcases iespectivel3 r last season. Details of the lamb and mutton, killings in the North Island with figures for the previous season in parentheses arc as follows:— Lamb 5,693,069 (5,683,409) Wether mutton 671,960 ( 508,967) Ewe mutton 1,1.7,601 ( 871,241) Frozen beef production is noAV .'>34,953 quarters compared with 606SoS quarters last season. Porker killings total 22,936 carcases, a decrease of 11,064 whilst baconers total 222,524 carcases, a decrease of 74,186.
