Coin Shortage The return from overseas of large numbers ot the Australian Imperial Force and the influx of American troops, is blamed for an acute shortage of silver and copper coins in Australia. In the past year the Commonwealth Mint has issued £1,500,000 worth of silver coins and £60,-
000 cl coppers. The mint is Avorking 60 hours a week turning out silver
coins only
