THE "GOOD ENDEAVOUR" LEAGUE FOR YOUNG READERS ONLY

{Aboard for the Goodwill Cruise — (Py = PETER THE WHALER Z c/WHALE ISLAND

What ho, what ho, ma hearties. Glad to sec you all once again and to know that you are all doing fine. The weather is simply marvellous out at the WJiale, the sea is like glass and when it is fine and sunny, there is nothing I like better than to take my old dinghy and row round the shore, visiting the bays on the eastern side and exploring them. I have of course been there hundreds of times before but Ii am never tired of walking along the sand and picking up driftwood and shells. 1 would like to have some of you over here to keep mc company. I could show you some splendid caves in which you could play pirates and some beautiful clear pools in which you can see the cray fish crawling round the bottom. Do you like cray fish? I do, and I often catch them for a change and the largest I ever saw measured just 2ft 5 inches, without his feelers. I couldn't eat it all so I gave most of it aftvay. Well let me get on with the page. I find I have no mail at all this week. Don't know what went wrong but the Editor sa3 - s he hasn't heard of any arriving. Alright I'll go three times to the pictures myself. Yours till next week P.T.W.

were bound and Hung beside an ancient oak. As clay drew near the shadows lifted them up and, spreading huge dark wings, flew away. At length they arived at a mighty castle in whose courtyard their captors alighted. They were dragged into a great room where sat an evillooking old woman. On seeing her captives she laughed evilly. "You will die" she said. "You will die by starvation. In a month your prison door will be opened and then on my castle gates we'll hang four skeletons." (To be continued).
