AIR FORCE AND ARMY MEN INSTRUCTION OF DEFENCE FORCES A statement that a considerable number of Army and Air Force personnel had returned to New Zealand to ass'st Avith the instruction of the heme defence forces Avas made by the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones. This is in furtherance of the GoA'ernment's policy to give the forces in New Zealand as much opportunity as possible to benefit from experience of land lighting and air operations overseas. "Certain personnel have been brought back avlio have been seizing Avith the Royal Air Force," said Ma''Jones. "They include men with Avar and staff experience in Great Britain and elseAvhere, and their knowledge, experience and advice will be available to the personnel of the various stations to which the3 r will be attached-"' Profitable Cull Cow A cull cow from Opotiki recently realised the sum of £8. 8s 3d. The cow, a Jersey, Aveighed 6351b5. and was the property of Mr W. Beatr> tie, Woodlands. In the previous season it Avas the best cow in the herd but went dry. The cow was collected by Mr R. Andrews under the Farmers' Union cull cow scheme. Mr Andrews states that so far this season he has trucked away over 1000 cull gows.
