Queue for Eggs
The sale of eggs at a store in Dixon Street, Wellington, attracted a queue of 200 to 300 men and women, extending nearly 100 yards to the Cuba Street intersection. Prices were 3s 8d and 3s 4d a dozen. Shortly before noon the store displayed a sign "No eggs left.'"
