LESS SEVERE IN N.Z. THAN IN BRITAIN More clotlios can lie bought' in New Zealand than in Britain under rationing according to a comparl-* son of the two systems from facts given in a letter received by a New Plymouth resident from an Knglisli friend. Far a period of 12 months the number of coupons available under the British scheme is about almost identical with New Zealand's ration of ')'! coupons. Although the number of coupons allowed is almost the same in New Zealand as in Britain, many more have to be surrendered. The following figures, with the British requirements in parentheses, M'nstrnk; a few of I lie most striking differences: Man's 1 suit 1(> coupons shirt 2 (.")), socks t (o), tvo* dress 4 («1 for woollen dress*. for cotton), shoes 3 (5).
