REFUSAL TO GO TO CAMP SENT TO ST HAITI MlO R E Frederick Hugh Wederell, motor trimmer, had nothing to say when asked by the Magistrate in the Whakatane Court yesterday if he desired to make a statement regarding his persistent refusal to go to camp. The charge against Wederell slated that being a person called up lor service last November he had failed to comply with orders to -proceed to camp, under the National Service Regulations. To this he pleaded guilty. Sergeant Farrell said that the defendant had been given every up-> portunity by the authorities to modify his views but he had failed to do so. An order was made out for his committal to the Defaulters' Detention camp at Strathmore, forthwith.
