girl Guide effort HOUSE TO HOUSE GANVAiSSj The Girl Guide movement throughout New Zealand has undertaken the task of financing the erection of four recreation huts in the main military camps. Each hut is estimated to cost approximately £600, which means that the organisation lias saddled itself with the responsibility of finding a total of £2400. All troops will' combine their efforts towards raising thcdr quota of the figure and the local unit will embark upon a paper drive which is scheduled to extend over the whole of next mo-nth. Residents are asked to co-op-erate in a house to house can-) vass the date of which will be announced later. All types of paper will be accepted l and if householdters will commence saving now and tying in a neat bundle, the paper usually regarded as' waste they will be assisting very materially. Offices and business houses; can also assist by making their waste paper available. The depot lor the month will be the Commercial Hotel sample rootms kindly' granted for the purpose by Mr N. Brcmner.
