This position, liOAvever, Avas to be eixpected for it is realised Ave are i!n. the midst of a worldi war— andi every man andi Avoman must place AA r ar Avork, E.P.S. duties, Home Guard services and a host of other activities relating to Avar effort before recreation and golf. HoAvever, all earnest workers towards our various Avar efforts must not forget that when opportunity offers, the golf links at Paroa is being kept in first class order for their recreation. A haven of peace, Avhere one could forget for a while all one's AA r orries, and concentrate on bashing a little pill Avithout forgetting of course to replace the turf. Though shoAvery, seA r eral sectional matches Avcre completed. The following are the results: Bullard lost to Henderson: Anderson, lost to Suckling; Littlejolm lost to Campbell;; Moore lost to Sloane; Stone lost to Syme. Sectional! match playi is suffering through members being occupied! at necessary occupations during these troublous times. But members should at least try when possible to play off matches so that progress through the. programme could) be accellerated. Next Saturday Avill be an open day, on account of an E.P.S. trial in this area. Any golfeirs Avishing to play may compete in a 4 ball! Best Ball Bogey, choosing OAvn partners and fours.
