RACING NOTES

WILL GET SUPPORT The sprinter Dinki Di is to remain at Ellerslie until after the Great Northern meeting. His second to Sure Pay in the Mc\unt Eden Handicap was a good performance, and he will have plenty of friends the next time he goes to the post. A CONSISTENT FILLY Cherry's Ticket is being kept going by F. Gilchrist, and will make her next appearance at the Great Northern meeting. The daughter of Croupier and Ticket, avlio is in first rate order, has been a consistent performer this season. She drew the outside, position (No.. 27) in the Mount Eden Handicap, and that no doubt contributed to her failure. ADDED TO LIST The two year old Elect, by Broiefort —Columbia, and Hot Pursuit, by Foxbridge—Caliente, were recently operated on, and they will race as geldings in the future. CORNWALL CANDIDATE Since racing at Ellerslie, Sir Cameron has not been over-taxed, but no fault can be found with his con- | dition. The son of Posterity is due to have his next outing in the Cornwall Handicap, anl he will be a better horse when that event is decided. STOUT PEDIGREE LINES Included in the jumping brigade at Ellerslie is Great Night, a stable companion of Mr W. Kemp's grey mare Acuslila. By Night March from Bonnile Dawn, an imported mare by Green Back, the sire of Paper Money this mare has won four races on the flat, and in her schooling Avorlc over the battens lias, shown capability. RE-COMMISSIONED The Hawke's Bay jumper, Birkology, who broke down last season after winning five steeplechases, has resumed work with W. Wilson's team at Gisborne. When at his best he was very highly assessed as a jumper, and should be quite a payable proposition this winter. A GOOD PURCHASE The Lapidary gelding, E'rhdale, who has been a good stake earner for his present owner, Mr Ebbett, of Hamilton, is stoutly bred on the maternal side, for his dam is by Nassau, and of high grade pedigree, tracing back to the Sylvia branch of the Juliet family. STREAMLINE'S WEIGHT / In the Great Northern Steeplechase the Canterbury candidate, Streamline, at 11.10, was allotted a stone more than the weight he won Avitli last year. He is liable to a rehandicap if he wins at Te Rapa. RACING IN ENGLAND Racing is still being conduocted In England on a fairly extensive scale considering it is war time. Fixtures for the 15 weeks period from April 18 to the end of oJuly provided for 42 meetings., 25 of them on Saturdays and the balance of 17 on Aveek days. ERNDALE IN THE NORTHERN Erndale's Aveight in the Great Northern Hurdles is 10.2. He has been put through a fair amount of schooling Avork and is expected to run prominently in his Ellerslie engagement.
