"AWAKE NEW ZEALAND"
A CALL TO ALL Each day sees the war come closer to our shores and now we are unmistakably laced Avith the prospect of an invasion. This country must, therefore, immediately unite* to the utmost. Major Melrose sounded the "Clarion Call" and as a result many thousands of people haA*e banded themselves together to awaken this count nyi to a sense of its danger, to the need for sacrifice by all, and to see that offensive Aveap-j ons are manufactured; to the limit by the full utilisation of all untapped resources. From the North Cape to the Bluff came messages of goodwill and offers of assistance and the moA'ement has groAvn to such an extent that at a representative meeting held recently in Hamilton, it was decided to launch a nation-wide campaign. Our brave soldiers arc lighting abroad and alongside our Territorial Army Ave at home must demonstrate that Ave are Avorthy custodians of this fair British country. No consideration other than those of national safety can animate us, and this campaign. Avithout seeking to lead and with a full sense of responsibility asks all bodies, organisations and persons to actively support and participate in this movement to the end that all Ncav Zealanders Avith God's all powerful help will work and sacrifice as. one and in complete Christian unity stand foursquare, spiritually and physically, ready to Avard off this real and terrible danger. Awake, Zealand: —together Ave fight! God defend Ncav Zealand. We sincerely ask and Avill gladly welcome everybody's assistance, (Inserted by The Dominion Provincial Committee, "Awake Zealand Campaign," Caledonia Building, Box"409, Hamilton.)
