Use for Prison Plantation

The old prison plantation at Seddon, Marlborough, is being requisitioned to replace what was formerly imported- from overseas. The 20-j'ear-old larch groves, are being cut to provide transmission l poles, for electric current in the district. The trees; were originally planted about eight feet apart with- Lhti result that they have grown tall and straight and are ail even from butt to top.
