THE AMAZON BATTALION
SOML'iHING of the activities of the Edgecumbe Amazon Battalion was learnt at the recent public meeting called in the interests of the A.N-Z.C. This information was welcome in view of the attention focussed on the movement when first initiated «ix weeks ago. From what was stated on that c-ccasion we understand that women in Edgecumbe are concentrating mainly on the art of self-defence and not on active belligerency. It would be hard to find any unbiassed objection to training such as this for the knowledge will stand the trainees in good stead all their lives and as Mr Bunyan stated will not leave them helpless in the face of an invasion should ever such possibility befall us.
